National STEM Day is on Wednesday, Nov. 8. Join us in celebrating by bringing fun and engaging STEM activities to your child’s classroom!
What we have in store:
- Choose from one of these activities: cranberry structure or pumpkin obstacle course. Due to limited classroom space, you may not do both. All supplies will be provided.
- If you’d like to do another STEM activity (in lieu of or in addition to), please check in with me first to ensure that it follows guidelines.
- You may borrow other activities from the Makerspace program such as LEGOs, straws and connectors, craft sticks and connectors, Snap Circuits (2nd grade and above only), etc. This is first come, first served so email us soon to reserve yours!
What’s next: If you’re interested in hosting STEM Day in your child’s classroom:
- Sign up on this sheet. This is important to know how many supplies are needed.
- Ask your child’s teacher if he/she will participate and ask for a time that works with their class schedule (45-60 minutes is ideal).
- Attend an info session to get more details on how to host STEM Day and activity instructions (date/time TBD).
Note: STEM Day celebration is completely optional. Activities and participation will vary by teacher and volunteer.
With STEM Week’s success last year, this is a great opportunity to have something like that again (just on a smaller scale). So join us, and you’ll be amazed at what our students can make!
If you have any questions, email makerspace@stevenscreekpto.org (not your teacher).
