In a traditional makerspace, makers are offered many stations to choose from. They go from one station to another according to their interests and stay as long or as little as they want at a particular station.
At our school, we have mobile stations instead, where stations are carted into the classrooms.
Parent Mentors can bring 1-2 mobile stations to the classroom (depending on the student make up) and assign half of the class to one station, while the rest to the other station.
